About the event

In this course we will examine the ways in which food history (recipes) and the ways we organize and share this information affects our personal story. With the guidance of Chef Morgan Yezzi we will examine our personal and familial relationship to food and how we share it with others.

Ashley Pastore will lead us through the making of two book structures that offer possible new homes and organizational strategies for our recipes. We will learn how to make a long stitch book as well as a custom recipe box!

Using past and present recipe books and boxes as reference and inspiration we will customize our own handmade collections.

You will leave this class with experience in making your own collections as well as a collection of recipes from everyone in the class.

Bring in your Grandma’s box of recipes, digital collections and handwritten piles to sift through and share!

Appetizer (preview) Class: February 20th 5:30-8:30 $30

In this shortened class option we will make a very simple book structure and discuss all things recipe in hopes that you’ll join us for the extended version.
