Marbling on Fabric

In this workshop, you will learn the basics of marbling on fabric. We will cover several steps of the process including how to prepare marbling colors, the marbling bath, and the surfaces to be marbled. We will explore color theory and create a vibrant color palette to create a series of uniquely marbled pieces of fabric. We will briefly talk about the traditional marbling processes such as combing patterns, however, this class is more focused on the exploration of material rather than the mastery of traditional techniques. Each participant will leave with several pieces of marbled cotton fabric to take home and use in their own sewing or textile projects.
