Tetra Pak Intaglio Printing

Make a Print Out of Trash

What if that empty juice carton you were about to throw away could become a print?

Join Pittsburgh printmaker and resident artist Bethany Wells at Grounded Print + Paper for an introduction to Tetra Pak intaglio—a surprisingly simple way to make beautiful prints using something you probably already have in your recycling bin.

You’ll learn how to turn a used Tetra Pak carton into a printing plate, carve your design, ink it, wipe it down, and press it into a finished print. She’ll even show you how a pasta machine can double as a printing press. No fancy equipment, no previous printmaking experience, and no need to know what the hell you're doing when you walk in.

Bethany will walk you through the process from start to finish, sharing carving techniques, design ideas, and plenty of tips for getting a good print. All tools and materials…
