In this engaging three-part workshop series, participants will delve into the art of papermaking while exploring various techniques incorporating pigments, different fibers, and stencils into their creations. Each session will build upon the last, offering a comprehensive journey into the world of handmade paper.
Participants will be introduced to the fundamentals of papermaking. We will explore different types of paper fibers such as cotton, abaca, and recycled materials. The session will cover pulp preparation, sheet forming, and basic drying techniques. Each participant will create their own sheets of handmade paper to be used in subsequent sessions.
Building upon the skills learned in the first session, participants will discover how to introduce color into their paper creations. We will experiment with pigments, exploring techniques to achieve vibrant or subtle hues. Participants will learn to blend pigments into their paper pulp and create uniquely…
